1
Welcome Song

Good morning, Good morning it's _______ today
I'm ready to work, are you ready to play?
The duck says quack quack! The cow says moo moo!
And I say "Good Morning" when I see you

2
Five Red Apples

Five red apples
On an apple tree
Hold up five fingers
The juciest apples you ever did see
The wind came past
And gave a frown
Blow and look angry
And one little apple came tumbling down

Four red apples
On an apple tree
Hold up four fingers
The juciest apples you ever did see
The wind came past
And gave a frown
Blow and frown
And one little apple came tumbling down

Three red apples
On an apple tree
Hold up three fingers
The juciest apples you ever did see
The wind came past
And gave a frown
Blow and frown
And one little apple came tumbling down

Two red apples
On an apple tree
Hold up two fingers
The juciest apples you ever did see
The wind came past
And gave a frown
Blow and frown
And one little apple came tumbling down

One red apple
On an apple tree
Hold up one finger
The juciest apple you ever did see
The wind came past
And gave a frown
Blow and frown
And the last little apple came tumbling down

4
I Like To Pretend

I like to pretend that I am a rose
crouch down
That grows and grows and grows.
stand up gradually
My hands are a rosebud closed up tight.
Close hands on head
With not a tiny speck of light.
Then slowly the petals open for me,
Let hands open gradually
And now I am a rose, you see!
Spread hands wide

6
Creepy Crawly Calypso

This is a book with an accompanying music CD. I presented it by playing the CD and showing the book to the children, bopping along with the music as well.

8
This Is My Garden

This is My Garden

This is my garden
Hold out hand
I rake it with care
Rake with fingers
And plant some flower seeds in there
Plant seeds
The sun will shine
Make other hand sun
The rain will fall
Make other hand rain
And then my garden will blossom
Growing straight and tall
Raise fingers up

9
Scarf Activity

Hand out a small scarf or scrap of fabric to each child. Get them to smush it down into their fist until a tiny bit sticks out of their clenched fist. Then ask them if they can see the seed, then the shoot starts to grow, and grow, and grow (while you are doing this pull out more and more of the fabric) until finally you have a huge plant to wave around.

11
We Are Gardeners
To the tune of Farmer in the Dell

We all plant the seeds
We all plant the seeds
Heigh ho the derry-o
We all plant the seeds
Bend down to plant seeds

The sun comes out to shine
The sun comes out to shine
Heigh ho the derry-o
The sun comes out to shine
Hold hands up in the air to be the sun

The rain starts to fall
The rain starts to fall
Heigh ho the derry-o
The rain starts to fall
Use fingers to simulate rain falling

The seeds start to grow
The seeds start to grow
Heigh ho the derry-o
The seeds start to grow
Put hand through other hand to mimic plant coming out of soil

We all smell the flowers
We all smell the flowers
Heigh ho the derry-o
We all smell the flowers
Sniff flowers extravagently

12
Dingly Dangly Scarecrow

When all the cows were sleeping,
And the sun had gone to bed,
Crouch down low for the first two lines
Up jumped the scarecrow!
And this is what he said.
Jump up when scarecrow jumps up

I'm a dingle dangle scarecrow
Dance floppily
With a flippy floppy hat!
Put hands on head
I can shake my arms like this,
Shake arms
I can shake my legs like that!
Shake legs

When all the hens were roosting
And the moon behind a cloud,
Crouch down low for first two lines
Up jumped the scarecrow!
And shouted very loud.
Jump up when scarecrow jumps up

I'm a dingle dangle scarecrow
Dance floppily
With a flippy floppy hat!
Put hands on head
I can shake my arms like this,
Shake arms
I can shake my legs like that!
Shake legs

2
Mr Clown

Who is it that wears a smile
That almost stretches half a mile?
Who is it that turns it upside down
And changes his smile into a frown?
Who is it that turns his face all around?
Why, who could it be but Mr Clown!

3
Five Little Monkeys

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed
Hold five fingers up
One fell off and bumped his head
Hit head with hand
Mummy called the doctor and the Doctor said
Make telephone gesture with hand and hold it up to ear
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
Wave finger as if telling off

Four little monkeys...

Three little monkeys...

Two little monkeys...

One little monkey jumping on the bed
Hold five fingers up
One fell off and bumped his head
Hit head with hand
Mummy called the doctor and the Doctor said
Make telephone gesture with hand and hold it up to ear
"Get those monkeys back into bed!"
Wave finger as if telling off

5
Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder like a regimantal Soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

Do your ears stand high?
Do they point up to the sky?
Do they hang down when they're wet?
Do they stand up when they're dry?
Can you telephone your neighbors with a minimum of labour?
Do your ears stand high?

Do your ears stand out?
Can you wave them all about?
Can you point them East and West?
Can you point them North and South?
Can you eat Peanut Butter
With a flutter, flutter, flutter
Do your ears stand out?

Hey Hey Hey
From Pukeko Stomp by Janet Channon and Wendy Jensen

Hey, hey, hey
It’s a clapping day
Clap you’re hands now
Whadda ya say
Hey, hey, hey
It’s a clapping day
Clap your hands
Then STOP.

Hey, hey, hey
It’s a patting day
Pat the beat now
Whadda ya say…
Hey, hey, hey
It’s a patting day
Pat the beat
Then STOP.

Hey, hey, hey
It’s a shaking day
Shake your hands now
Whadda ya say…
Hey, hey, hey
It’s a shaking day
Shake your hands
Then STOP.

Hey, hey, hey
It’s a circle day
Make some circles
Whadda ya say…
Hey, hey, hey
It’s a circle day
Make some circles
Then STOP.

9
Flippity Flop

Flippity flop!
Flippity flop!
See how my cute
Little bunny can hop.
Hop around like bunnies

Flippity flop!
Flippity flop!
You're making me dizzy,
So please, won't you stop.
On 'stop', stop hopping and 'freeze' in position

11
Fly On My Toe

A fly is on my toe, on my toe,
A fly is on my toe, on my toe
A fly is on my toe
Hey ho away we go
A fly is on my toe, on my toe.

A fly is on my knee, on my knee,
A fly is on my knee, on my knee.
A fly is on my knee
Hey ho look at me
A fly is on my knee, on my knee.

A fly is on my tummy, on my tummy
A fly is on my tummy, on my tummy.
A fly is on my tummy
I think it's pretty funny
A fly is on my tummy, on my tummy.

A fly is on my hand, on my hand
A fly is on my hand, on my hand
A fly is on my hand
And I think it's rather grand
A fly is on my hand, on my hand.

A fly is on my shoulder, on my shoulder
A fly is on my shoulder, on my shoulder.
A fly is on my shoulder
And then it jumped off!

Shake My Sillies Out by Raffi

I'm gonna shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
And wiggle my waggles away!

I'm gonna clap, clap, clap my crazies out.
Clap, clap, clap my crazies out,
Clap, clap, clap my crazies out,
And wiggle my waggles away!

I’m gonna jump, jump, jump my jiggles out.
Jump, jump, jump my jiggles out,
Jump, jump, jump my jiggles out,
And wiggle my waggles away!

I'm gonna yawn, yawn, yawn my sleepies out.
Yawn, yawn, yawn my sleepies out,
Yawn, yawn, yawn my sleepies out,
And wiggle my waggles away,

I'm gonna shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
And wiggle my waggles away,
And wiggle my waggles away!
Hooray!
