Let’s say Hello
As quietly as we can
Hello
Quietly

2 Row Row

Children can sit on their caregivers knee or simply rock themselves

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream,
If you catch a jellyfish
Wave your arms and scream.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently round the lake,
Watch out for the crocodile
And look out for the snake.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the river,
If you see a polar bear
Don't forget to shiver.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently out to sea,
If you meet a big blue whale
Ask her home for tea.

4 One, two, three, four, five

1,2,3,4,5
Hold up each finger on your hand as they are counted off
6,7,8,9,10
Hold up fingers on your other hand as they are counted
Then I let it go again

Why did I let it go?
Hold both hands up in a questioning gesture
Because it bit my finger so
Shake right hand
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on the right
Hold up little finger of right hand

6 Scooping Up Sand
To Tune of 10 Little Indians

During this song mime picking up sand and putting it in the bucket. I like to start off by saying we are picking up our buckets and end by making a pretend sandcastle once we have enough sand

Scoop up the sand and put it in your bucket,
Scoop up the sand and put it in your bucket,
Scoop up the sand and put it in your bucket,
How much do you have?

7 Five Terrible Pirates

We illustrate this with five pictures of pirates on the feltboard and then remove them one by one

5 terrible pirates
Row towards the shore
One swims off with a mermaid
Now there are four

4 squabbling pirates
With a treasure map to see
One forgot his glasses
Now there are three

3 puzzled pirates
Wondering what to do
One searched by crocodile creek - SNAP!
Now there are two

2 sleepy pirates
Snoozing in the sun
One get hits by a coconut
Now there’s only one

1 lonely pirate
Left all on his own
What’s the use of treasure now?
I WANT TO GO HOME!!!

9 Three Blind Jellyfish

We do this with three jellyfish we made out of cardboard with bubble wrap for their 'legs'. They sit on a rock we made out of cardboard but they could just sit on the feltboard too.

Three Blind Jellyfish
Three blink jellyfish
Three blind jellyfish
Sitting on a rock
Oh – oh
One falls off

Two Blind Jellyfish
Two blind jellyfish
Two blind jellyfish
Sitting on a rock
Oh – Oh
One falls off!

One Blind Jellyfish
One blind jellyfish
One blind jellyfish
Sitting on a rock
Oh – oh
It falls off!

No Blind Jellyfish
No blind jellyfish
No blind jellyfish
Sitting on a rock
Along comes a wave
And another wave
Oh-Oh
They’ve come back again!

10 Row Row again
